Emergency aid for Karamoja

Food for Karamoja is an emergency relief campaign launched by the locally rooted organisation Kara-Tunga. When the rich culture and resilient people of the Karamoja region in northeastern Uganda are hit by extreme famine caused by relentless droughts, the community comes together. The campaign raises funds to provide the hardest-hit families in remote areas with essential food and supplies.

Why

The Karamoja region is facing an unprecedented food crisis. Extreme weather patterns and prolonged drought have destroyed crops and dried up water sources. As a result, almost half a million people are experiencing crisis-level hunger, while more than 100,000 young children and mothers are at immediate risk of acute malnutrition. Without this essential support, many families in these remote villages simply have nowhere to turn.

Mission: Provide life-saving food aid and preserve the dignity of people affected by drought, with the aim of reaching 1,000 of the most vulnerable households.
