Save The Waves Coalition is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting surf ecosystems, including in Portugal, where it helps safeguard the renowned World Surfing Reserve in Ericeira. The organization combines science, policy advocacy, and local community action to protect waves and the surrounding natural environment from pollution and destructive projects.
Coastlines around the world are under unprecedented pressure from climate change, widespread pollution, illegal construction projects and coastal erosion. These threats destroy not only unique waves, but also rich marine biodiversity and the livelihoods of coastal communities that depend on them. Save The Waves takes action by proactively protecting, restoring and preserving vulnerable coastal areas for current and future generations.
