Oasebos protects rainforests by purchasing land and taking it out of the economic system. They do this in Costa Rica because this small country is home to about 6% of all biodiversity in the world. Within Costa Rica, they mainly buy forests in the Maquenque area. Their ultimate goal? A nature corridor that connects all the natural areas in the region.
The rainforest is the oldest and most diverse ecosystem in the world. Some rainforests are over 100 million years old. In the past 50 years, more than half of them have disappeared due to deforestation and other human activities. Protecting our tropical rainforests is vital because
Oasebos actively and effectively contributes to the preservation and restoration of the tropical rainforest in Costa Rica. Their goals:

Your support makes it possible to purchase new pieces of rainforest and sustainably protect them. Every contribution directly contributes to the preservation of biodiversity, CO₂ storage, and a habitat for special species like the jaguar, the military macaw, and countless frogs and plants.
When you donate to the Butterfly Foundation, you’re investing in a future where responsible travel is the norm. Your donation helps us grow our network and creates even more impact worldwide. Choose how much you want to give through the links below or make a free contribution.
