Why

In Albania, thousands of stray animals are faced with extreme conditions: hunger, serious diseases, traffic accidents, and unfortunately, also abuse or brutal culling actions. Due to a significant lack of shelters and veterinary care for street animals in the area, 4 Zampe Rescue Albania was founded to break this vicious cycle of neglect and give animals a voice.

Mission & goals

The organization's mission is to create a safe, humane, and respectful living environment for all animals in Albania. Their main goals are:

  • Emergency rescue and rehabilitation: To rescue and medically treat injured, sick, and abandoned stray animals.
  • Sustainable population control: To systematically reduce the number of street animals through large-scale sterilization and castration projects.
  • Adoption into loving homes: To match rehabilitated dogs and cats with loving adoptive families, both within Albania and internationally.
  • Social awareness: To change the local mentality towards stray animals through education and dialogue with the community.
