Why

Although Staatsbosbeheer receives funding for basic services like nature management and recreational infrastructure, there is a lack of funding for additional projects. Buitenfonds bridges this gap by raising external funds, enabling projects such as nature education, monument preservation, and biodiversity enhancement to continue.

Impact

Mission & goals

The Buitenfonds has the mission to preserve and enrich the nature of the Netherlands. The foundation supports projects that contribute to sustainable nature experiences, education, and ecological sustainability. They work within six thematic areas: Ecological Footprint, New Wilderness, Cultural Treasures, Children, Forest Ranger, and Experience.
