Protecting street dogs and farm animals

Tierhilfe Tirana is dedicated to rescuing and caring for stray dogs, cats, and farm animals like horses, sheep, and chickens in Albania. With limited resources and many animals in need, the organization provides medical care, food, and a safe place for these animals to have a better life.

Why

In Albania, many animals live in miserable conditions. Stray dogs and cats are often left to fend for themselves, while farm animals don't always receive the care they need. Tierhilfe Tirana was established to give these animals a second chance and protect them from hunger, disease, and abuse.

Mission & goals

The organization’s mission is to save, care for, and protect as many animals as possible in Albania. They do this by:

  • Providing shelter and medical care to injured or neglected animals
  • Sterilizing and vaccinating stray dogs and cats to control the population
  • Rescuing abused farm animals and providing them with a safe living environment
  • Promoting animal welfare and awareness in the local community
Actions
  • Rescue and care: Tierhilfe Tirana helps street dogs and cats by providing them with food, medical care, and a safe home.
  • Sterilization and vaccination programs: They carry out sterilizations and vaccinations to prevent uncontrolled breeding and diseases among animals.
  • Shelter for farm animals: They rescue abused horses, sheep, and chickens and provide them with a better living environment.
  • Education and awareness: The organization collaborates with the local community to promote animal welfare and combat abuse.

“Every animal deserves a chance at a dignified life. Together we can change their future.”
