Protection through cooperation

River Collective is a network of students, researchers, conservationists, and kayakers dedicated to the protection of free-flowing rivers. Through collaboration and knowledge sharing, they combat the uncontrolled development of hydropower plants and other threats to river ecosystems.

Why

Rivers around the world are threatened by dams, pollution, and habitat loss. River Collective was born out of the need to protect these ecosystems by bringing together people from different backgrounds to turn their knowledge into action.

The mission of River Collective is to spark a global movement that protects free rivers. Their goals are:

  • Education and awareness about the ecological value of rivers.
  • Bringing together experts and activists to develop innovative solutions.
  • Organizing impactful events like the Students for Rivers Camp and Home River Bioblitz, where students and scientists come together for river protection.
Actions

River Collective organizes various projects and events:

  • Students for Rivers Camp – an annual event where students come together to explore river conservation and initiate projects.
  • Home River Bioblitz – a global project where volunteers map and monitor their local rivers.
  • Ripple Projects – innovative collaborations such as mapping endangered river areas and researching ecological impact.

“If we work together, we can save rivers and leave future generations a free-flowing world.”
