For a sustainable future

Natur og Ungdom (Nature and Youth) is the largest environmental movement for young people in Norway. Since the 1960s, the organization has been committed to climate justice and conservation. They give young people a voice and fight against pollution and destructive industries.

Why

Nature is threatened by climate change and destructive economic activities. Natur og Ungdom was founded to ensure a sustainable future, where biodiversity is preserved and climate change is tackled. They want a society that takes responsibility for the environment and the well-being of future generations.

Impact

Mission & goals

Nature and Youth works on environmental issues at local, national, and international levels. Their goals are:

  • Protection of nature and biodiversity
  • Reducing fossil fuels and transitioning to sustainable energy
  • Tighter environmental legislation and responsible policy
Actions

The organization organizes protests, campaigns, and educational projects. They exert pressure on politicians and companies to make sustainable decisions. Additionally, they support local branches across Norway so that young people can get involved in environmental efforts at the local level.

“We have helped stop deep-sea mining. A historic victory for the environment! Dedicated young people are now continuing the fight.”
