Naturvernforbundet, or the Norwegian Society for Nature Conservation, is the oldest and largest environmental organization in Norway. With over 20,000 members and 100 local chapters, the organization is committed to nature conservation and sustainable development throughout Norway.

Why

The Nature Conservation Association was established to protect Norway's unique nature from harmful human influences. The organization fights against climate change, environmental destruction, and pollution through political action, research, and public awareness.

Impact

Mission & goals

The organization aims for a sustainable society where biodiversity is preserved and natural resources are managed responsibly. Their main focus areas are:

Actions

The Nature Conservation Association campaigns against harmful industrial activities, such as excessive logging and pollution from the oil industry. They also work on sustainable energy solutions and promote environmentally conscious behavior among citizens through educational programs and policy influence.
