For a future full of wild nature

The Paremman Luonnon Puolesta -Säätiö (Foundation for Better Nature) is dedicated to the protection of natural ecosystems in Finland. Through donations and active involvement, the foundation helps to secure valuable natural areas and make them accessible for future generations.

Why

The Finnish nature is under pressure from deforestation, infrastructure development, and climate change. Many valuable ecosystems are disappearing, causing plant and animal species to lose their habitats. The foundation aims to reverse this trend by purchasing and managing permanently protected nature reserves.

Mission & goals

The mission of the foundation is to preserve natural landscapes and biodiversity in Finland. Their goals are to:

  • Acquire and protect endangered natural areas.
  • Establish collaborations with landowners and other nature conservation organizations.
  • Create awareness about the importance of nature conservation.
Actions
  • Purchase of natural areas: Through donations, we buy forests and natural areas and protect them permanently.
  • Management and monitoring: We ensure that nature can thrive undisturbed, without human intervention.
  • Education and awareness: We share knowledge about the importance of old forests and promote nature conservation.

“Old forests are essential for biodiversity. Every tree and every animal counts in the fight for nature conservation.”

Eero Korhonen – Executive Director Foundation for Better Nature
